Prescott Learning Centre is committed to developing the whole person through our wide range of programs and learning opportunities in music. Our key focus areas will be participation, musical expression and performance. We are looking forward to creating a strong music community at Prescott Learning Centre.
Music
Elementary Music (K-6)
Elementary Students will learn to read music, use expressive elements while performing, develop stage presence and be given opportunities to perform.
Students will be taught to use a wide range of instruments to develop student’s overall love of music and musical understanding. Students will have opportunities to develop their singing and acting skills by both developing and performing in musicals.
Students will be given opportunities to learn about the different professions in the music community. The students will have opportunities to learn from guest musicians, as well as watch fellow musicians perform.
Elementary Choir (Grades 3-6)
We are very excited to announce that Prescott Learning Centre will have an Elementary Choir for students in Grades 3-6. Choir students will learn proper singing technique and a large repertoire of songs while developing their voices. They will also have frequent opportunities to perform in the surrounding community and the larger Edmonton area.
