Pick Up/Drop Off
To start, we want to express a great big THANK YOU for using the drop off zone to pick up and drop off your children. Safety of our kids is of utmost importance to us and keeping our bus zone free of vehicles helps ensure this. Please continue to use the parent pick up and drop off zones at all times when picking up and dropping off your children. Thanks for your cooperation.
We look forward to welcoming your children at 8:15am, when our outside supervision begins. Students will remain outside until 8:20 am and our school day begins at 8:30am.
Although we wish all students could be here all of the time, we do understand that there are times when your child will be absent. If you child is absent, you can notify our office by calling in and leaving a message 780-571-8079 or by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. and your child’s teacher.
We are excited to have our students active during recess breaks. The adaptability that our students have shown during our first few days of recesses is truly something to be proud of. We have had many dance parties in the hallways, front parking lot games and outdoor games and activities on the beautiful green space and tarmac behind our school.
We value the opportunity our recess and nutrition breaks provide for movement and socialization. During these outside breaks, we are requesting that students leave chromebooks, tablets, laptops and IPads in their classrooms and lockers.
During the 12:10 Recess Break …
Outside activities and the great outdoors will always be available for students.
Inside Activities will be available to students in Grade Levels on a rotation basis. Choices include:
Large Gym - Cooperative games
Collaboration Centre - providing a place for students to hang out, play board games, play cards, read books, makerspace, etc.
Grade levels will be scheduled in these spaces. The schedule will be shared with students and posted on our school calendar as well as classroom blogs.
We are continuing to invite students in grades 4-9 to bring their own device to school to support their learning.
We are selling the "ADmazing" Savings Ticket Packs. These can be purchased from our school office. All funds will go toward starting our Student Leadership Team to support their projects. Please check your child's bag for the brochure.
Our first choir meeting for students is on Tuesday, September 13th. At this meeting the students will learn what choir is all about as well as be given an information letter to take home to parents.
